The priority development area called as “Activation Area” in Dholera SIR is spread across an area of around 22.54 sqkm within Town Planning Scheme 2 in Dholera SIR. The area has approximately 72kms of roads and has an optimum mix of land.

Dholera solar park is a 5GW solar power project being developed in two phases at Dholera SIR. In Phase-1 of 1000MW already tender awarded and 600MW solar park infrastructure development started by TATA Power and 200MW solar park infrastructure development started by O2 Power Pvt. Ltd. The solar park is a part of the government’s plan for establishing India’s first world-class greenfield Dholera smart city project announced in 2009. It also supports the government’s aim to produce 175GW of clean energy by 2022.

The state of Gujarat finally gave a green signal to the state’s first monorail project early this January. Dholera SIR has been quite appealing to a bunch of developments for some time now. A six lane dual carriageway highway shall be built with provisions to extend it up to 10 lanes in Gujarat Dholera Metro city. Initially, it shall be built in a 4 lane format with two lanes on each side and shall be further extended in due time. This project had been proposed in the master plan of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and approved by the central government. The Ahmedabad–Dholera greenfield expressway is a part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and is expected to be ready by December 2022.

In a significant step towards creating an indigenous (“Make in India, For the World”) semiconductor ecosystem in India, Government of India has approved Tata Electronics to build a mega semiconductor fabrication facility (“Fab”) in Dholera, Gujarat in partnership with PSMC. The fab construction will begin this year with a total investment of up to INR 91,000 crores (~US$11bn) and will generate over 20,000 direct and indirect skilled jobs in the region.
